ABOUT
HOME + BODY CARE FOR NATURE LOVIN' CITY FOLK
Where it started
I've been making my own personal care since I was a teenager. I read every label and kept coming back to what came from the earth. For years I used my favorite ingredients one at a time, until I finally thought: what if I stopped choosing and put them all into one formula? I made it for myself first. Then I gave a few jars to friends. They kept asking for more, so one afternoon I made 100 samples to hand out to anyone who'd try one. That was the moment HODY started.
Know what's in it. Skip the guilt.
I read ingredient labels the way other people read the news. Every ingredient in a HODY jar is there on purpose, and I can tell you why. But I'm not going to pretend I never reach for anything else. Chasing 100% perfect all the time mostly creates shame, and shame doesn't belong in your home, or anywhere tbh. HODY is the homemade one: small batches, made by hand in Brooklyn, held to my own standard, and used by me every day.
Why HODY
HODY is short for Home & Body. Say it "hoe-dy" or say it "hottie." I love both. To me, the name is about two things that seem separate but aren't: your home and your body, the earth and the everyday, what's grown and what's made. It's even drawn into the logo. The O is the earth, the D is the human-made straight edge, and where they overlap is HODY.
A moment to pause
Whichever HODY product you reach for, I hope it gives you a moment to pause. It fits into city life and still makes room to connect to the earth and to yourself.
